Overview

An Allegory of the Pursuit of Happiness

Carved from 25 cubic meters of Guatemalan beige marble, this is the largest sculpture in Guatemala. It measures 18 meters long and 3 meters high, taking 3 years and 2 months to complete. It was inaugurated in Paseo Cayalá in May 2014. Known as The Marble Giant and Curiosity, it is part of the Fountain of Virtues. The entire ensemble is based on a children’s story I wrote in 2020 titled Amanecer, the Giant of Cayalá
