Overview

A celebration of the Artistic and constructive value of Brick and Stands

Brick Factory INMACO commissioned this art project in 1997 to highlight the use of brick for both construction and artistic purposes. The monument is made of terracotta, brick, fiberglass, steel, and iron. Its overall height is 10 meters, with the Colossus standing 5.5 meters tall, the stands 1 meter high, and the column 9 meters high. This monument was inaugurated in December 2001 and is located at one of the main entrances and exits of Guatemala City, on Calzada José Milla y Vidaurre—the road leading to the Atlantic—between Walmart and “Portales” shopping mall
