Striving to achieve an artistic expression that declares, "Yes, we are here—not maybe, but indisputably, yes, we are!" "Yes, we are aware of what we perceive!" "The senses do not deceive us!" "Oh yes, there is only one truth, but sometimes, because we are not infallible, omniscient, or omnipotent, we cannot always know it!"
My work seeks to communicate that man should be an end in himself. It tries to shout to civilized humanity that beauty is objective, depending on the correct mathematical integration of the parts to the whole. I firmly believe that the human race can practice virtues that help achieve values, and that a person's highest value—their own life—deserves to be obtained, maintained, and immortalized. The human being who attains wisdom, who acts, and who aspires to justice, fortitude, and temperance—the cardinal virtues of classical Greece—will achieve their greatest reward: their highest goals and their greatest emotion, HAPPINESS.
"Romantic Heroism" is what my work truly represents— a heroic sense of life. It conveys the belief that man is capable of shaping his own destiny, and with this sense, there is hope that someday man will achieve his most cherished dreams. It projects a sense of strength, achievement, and deep, full happiness.
